How do we make sure that our products meet our target customers’ needs? That they’re competitive and will deliver results? That’s our challenge. From the initial strategy to managing and optimising our award-winning portfolio of products, our Propositions department makes sure that we meet our customers’ needs while delivering key business objectives. They ensure that we make the most of new market and growth opportunities, and react with brilliant plans that shape the direction of our wider marketing campaigns.


Through comprehensive research and analysis into market and competitor trends, our Strategy team shapes NFU Mutual’s long-term direction. Working closely with senior leaders in the business, they develop the strategy that will ensure our future success.


From Digital Marketing to Campaigns, Brand to Partnerships & Shows, all bases are covered to implement top quality marketing activity in this department. Through innovation, ambition, and a test-and-learn approach, our marketing department is the powerhouse that delivers results. Our integrated campaigns are delivered across all of the appropriate channels under expertly devised plans, and then reviewed to assess our successes and improvements.


Covering Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Media, and Internal Communications, our expert Communications team promotes and protects the NFU Mutual brand both internally and externally with a wide variety of target audiences.

Mike Lawler, Head of Propositions

I joined NFU Mutual in 2014 to help build a team responsible for delivering and evolving Life and GI propositions. These deliver on our promise to build sustainable customer relationships delivered through award winning customer service. I enjoy working for brands that put customers at the heart of the business, and this is what attracted me to NFU Mutual. My role means that I look after customer propositions, which essentially means product features, customer experience and price. We aspire to be 'a great company to do business with' and to achieve this we must maintain a keen focus on their experience of the service we offer.

Gina Fusco, Director of Strategy and Marketing

I’ve spent many years working in financial services and have also enjoyed working as an independent strategy and marketing consultant to a wide range of companies. After consulting for NFU Mutual, I knew I had found something really special and was pleased to join the company on a permanent basis in 2011 as Head of Strategy and Marketing. In 2013, I was made a Director.

I’m responsible for group wide strategy development, internal and external communications, and proposition development and management. I love being part of an organisation that genuinely has customers at the heart of all they do, with values that I share: trust, integrity and great service.

Juliet Green, Head of Communications

I joined NFU Mutual as an Employee Relations Specialist back in 2003. As the role developed to include more of the communications work, I soon found where my real passion was. So when an internal communications job came up, I went for it. The rest, as they say, is history as I’ve gone on to become Head of Corporate Communications.

My story is the perfect example of how supportive NFU Mutual is with your career. They’ll do everything they can to help you grow and do the things that interest you.
