Senior Underwriter

'I’ve been with NFU Mutual since 1997 and I’ve certainly come a long way. I started off in Stratford-on-Avon, in a role which involved a little bit of everything – Sales, Customer Service and Lead Generation. As time passed, I ended up in a more structured Customer Service position, managing thatched property accounts with a colleague – quite a speciality!

In 2000 the Customer Service Department moved up to Glasgow, and after thinking long and hard about it, my husband and I decided to move with them. Luckily he works at NFU Mutaul too, but the move was seriously daunting – neither of us had ever lived more than a couple of miles from family and friends. That said, once we’d taken the plunge we soon settled in: everyone at work was so friendly and welcoming.

My journey hasn’t been limited to the geographical. In 2003 I completed my IFC qualifications with NFU Mutual’s support, before moving over into Underwriting as a Senior Personal Underwriter. That’s the great thing about NFU Mutual – you’re really encouraged to develop your skills, and the support to undertake professional qualifications is phenomenal. I’m already working towards my next one.'
