Working in Belfast

Northern Ireland’s enjoyed a real renaissance since the peace process began to blossom in the mid 1990s. The area – once synonymous with civil unrest – has been tipped a top ten ‘city on the rise’ by the Lonely Plant, and most importantly is buzzing with life, excitement and creativity.

Belfast itself is a city of pleasing contradictions, offering a unique balance of urban and rural, modern and ancient. Though Belfast’s very much a capital city, you’re never far from stunning scenery and fine Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and a rich shipbuilding history provides a striking contrast with modern investments including the £32million Victoria Square complex, and the soon-to-be-completed Odessey Pavillion.

Your social life’s future looks bright too: new hotels, clubs, bars and restaurants have been springing up all over the city, and it’s good to know that the efficient pink and white Metro bus will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Further a-field
One of the nicest things about living in Belfast is just how easy it is to escape the hustle and bustle. From the majestic Mountain of Mourne to the famous Giants Causeway, fresh air and stunning scenery is never far away. And with two international airports within half an hour from the city centre, international travel’s quick and convenient.
