Colin Campbell (Sales Consultant)
I’ve been with NFU Mutual since I left University – I gained a place on the training scheme, which helped me get a flavour of all the different areas of the business before settling down in Underwriting as a Team Leader. I was keen to gain experience out in the field and so applied to become a Sales Consultant. I’ve been in the role for eighteen months now and am really enjoying it. The knowledge of insurance I’ve built up since I joined NFU Mutual has been invaluable – I spend my time liaising with sales people from eight different agencies, solving technical issues, motivating teams and identifying areas where development’s a possibility. It’s certainly never dull – every day’s different and I even get involved in marketing and lead generation.
The most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing the people I work with develop. I’ve noticed that as a rule, everyone’s really keen to develop, and it’s great to make their ambitions a reality. The other thing I really like about working here is the way NFU Mutual does business. The company as a whole has a great reputation and is genuinely customer-centric – they really do lead the way.
