'You could say that my time here at NFU Mutual has been full of surprises. When I started, I’d never worked for a call centre, let alone in insurance, so I really thought I’d be thrown right in at the deep end. How wrong I was!
Eight weeks of structured training flew by, and soon I knew all about the various insurance packages we offer. Next it was time to get on the phones, and I was more than a little bit nervous. That’s where surprise number two came in – my manager and coaches made sure I was completely confident in myself and the systems we use so it was no problem when I answered my first call.
The surprises haven’t stopped since. One of the things that’s amazed me is just how interesting working in insurance can be – my days vary hugely, and calls cover everything from helping to change a car insurance policy to going over exclusions on a policy to provide a horse owner with peace of mind. Best of all is the company itself – they’re great to work with. With paid days off paintballing, 4x4 driving, even lazing around at a local spa, they certainly make you feel appreciated.'
