"Having been a member of the claims department in Chester since leaving school, I joined the Technical Claims Centre when it set up in 2000. Like all members of the department, I’m responsible for running my own individual case load which can mean handling personal injury claims ranging from a few hundred pounds up to those worth several hundred thousand pounds.

This department is always busy and the role challenging, as no two claims are ever the same, so you really have to think on your feet. I’m required to work to tightly defined timescales and deal with solicitors on a daily basis so communicative flair is a must too. The company has given me all the training I needed to develop these skills. Sometimes I have the opportunity to meet members of the legal profession in person and discuss individual cases or attend court hearings which is particularly rewarding, especially when we win!”
